How the draw works, step by step
- You create a Secret Spin: a name, the gift exchange date and the amount range.
- You paste the link in the group chat (WhatsApp, Messenger, Discord or text) or add people from a list - each gets a personal link.
- Everyone enters a name and email, types in a one-time code and taps "I'm in".
- The draw starts at the time you set or when you tap "Start". You need at least 3 people.
- Everyone spins the wheel. The name is revealed only when the wheel stops, and the result also arrives by email.
Hidden matches - from the organizer too
Only the person buying the gift knows their match. The organizer sees progress, meaning who has already spun, but not who drew whom, so they can take part in the draw with everyone else. The draw runs on the server and nobody can draw themselves.
Matches can be revealed only when at least 64% of participants agree, and the reveal is recorded in the event history.
Gift amount from a range and the median
You set a range, e.g. 50-150 PLN. Every participant suggests an amount with a slider and can't see anyone else's suggestion. When everyone has picked, yay.gift takes the median, the middle suggestion, and sends it to the whole group. One over-the-top amount doesn't push up the budget, and nobody has to say out loud how much they want to spend.
Scheduled start and reminders
You set the date and time of the draw and a threshold: wait for everyone, go with part of the group (e.g. 80%) or assume everyone takes part. The day before, people who haven't confirmed get a reminder. After the start yay.gift reminds those who haven't spun yet - every few days, as many times as you choose.
Before the exchange date, buyers are asked "Have you bought the gift yet?", and after the party they get a short survey.
Hints and a riddle instead of guessing
Everyone can pick a gift category and answer a few questions, e.g. about size or color. Anyone who wants to can write a hidden wish. The buyer never sees it, but AI turns it into a riddle: three guesses, rated cold, warm or hot.
